Species: KYANITE Locality: Park Hill, south side, Westmoreland, NH Specimen Size: 6.5 cm specimen. Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - August, 2001 Catalog No.: 1253 Notes: While searching for the Morril staurolite locality, Park Hill, Westmoreland, I found a quartz seam in the shist with these kyanite blades. I have searched for the Morrill Poocham Rd., Westmoreland kyanite locality, but never found it. There may be a house on this spot. |

[tm] Non matrix embedded kyanite crystals are uncommon in New England. Be good to get a confirming Raman verification. |
